Cotto vs. Canelo Coming soon, very soon

Miguel Cotto and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez have reached an agreement to fight on either November 7th or November 21st in a venue that is still in question but that will be in the 155 pound mark. This fight will be the most anticipated fight since the fight of the century between Mayweather and Pacquiao in May of the present year.

Even though Miguel Cotto (40-4, 33 KOs) is the oldest fighter, he has made great progress in his last three fights. In 2013 he lost back to back fights and quickly made changes in his corner and hired trainer Freddy Roach, and changed his training site from New York to Hollywood California, where he felt highly concentrated on his preparation. These changes gave him immediate success as he defeated Delvin Rodriguez on October 5, 2013 and then defeated Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez to win the middleweight championship of the world of the WBC, and later won in his first defense of the title on June 6 of this year against the Australian Daniel Geale.

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 KOs) received the first loss of his career at the hands of the pound for pound champion of the world, Floyd Mayweather Junior in 2013.  Since then Canelo has won his las three fights against Alfredo Angulo, Erislandy Lara, and most recently James Kirkland.

It has been a couple of months since the boxing experts have predicted this match and this was due to the success of Miguel Cotto and the constant statements delivered by Canelo that in his weight class and in the middleweight he would have no rival.

The fight would either be held in New York or in Las Vegas and will be a pay-per-view event televised by HBO.
