Is Mario Chalmers Gone?

In an attempt to trim the roster down to 15 players the Miami Heat have made moves to send Shabazz Napier to Orlando and Zoran Dragic to Boston. With the formal release of Henry Walker coming next the Heat roster will stand at 14. Once the Heat formally sign 2nd round draft pick Josh Richardson the roster will consist of 15 players under contract. Since 15 players is the max that a team can have going into the regular season you would think the Heat are done making moves. They would still like to lessen the luxury tax burden, which brings up the question, will the Heat now try to move Mario Chalmers?

As the roster stands now it’s safe to say Dragic, Wade, Deng, Bosh, and Whiteside will be the starting five. A second unit of Rio, Green, Winslow, McRoberts, and Amare is very intriguing. But switch Mario Chalmers for say, Tyler Johnson and it only makes it even more interesting. Imagine TJ, Green, and Winslow in the open court running the fast break. Mario Chalmers is a proven player in this league, not to mention a champion, but it will be interesting to see what the Heat do next. While Rio has proven he is capable of great things, you have to wonder what guys like James Ennis and Tyler Johnson can provide given the minutes? Is it time for the Heat to move Mario Chalmers?
