About Tyler Spence

My name is Tyler Spence, and I am the Lead Sports Columnist at RSE Network. I've worked their since June of 2014, and have had some of my articles featured on Yahoo Sports and ESPN.com. I grew up living all sports from hockey, to baseball, to basketball and of course, football. My teams are unusually scattered across the country, and there are a lot of factors as to why. First, let me tell you my teams are the Dallas Cowboys, San Jose Sharks, Washington Huskies, LA Lakers, and New York Yankees. A very odd combination, but I can explain. My Mom's side of the family is originally from Texas, and a lot of that side of the family still resides outside of Dallas. They are all huge Cowboys fans, and football fans in general, so I grew up watching Cowboys games with them. The San Jose Sharks are the local team we have in Northern California, and my first hockey game was at SAP Center. I've grown to love them ever since. The Washington Huskies are my favorite NCAA team, and originally the University of Washington was where I wanted to attend college. The reason being, is because I have many family members who live up there and visit often. I fell in love with the campus as a kid and followed them in every sport since I could remember. The LA Lakers and Yankees have to do with my Dad's side of the family now. They grew up in the Los Angeles area, so naturally, my Grandpa was a Dodgers and Lakers fan. My Dad, also a Lakers fan, but the competitive edge in him said he needed to be different in at least one sport, so my Dad stuck up for the Yankees when the Yankees and Dodgers were World Series rivals.
