Michigan’s Stauskas and Robinson Declare for NBA Draft

Michigan’s Nik Stauskas and Glenn Robinson III declared for the NBA Draft today in a press conference. Of these two, Stauskas’s decision is the easier to address: he was the Big 10 player of the year, shot 44% from three in each of his two years in Ann Arbor, and (in both years, but especially this year) showed that he was much more than a spot up shooter. He handled the ball and passed well, and has a chance go to in the late lottery. Draft Express currently has him ranked 15th. Also, my favorite Stauskas stat: he shot exactly 50% from two for his college career..

Robinson, meanwhile, is ranked 42nd by Draft Express. He averaged 13.1 points and 4.4 rebounds this year for the Wolverines. He showed that he could make a three pointer over the course of his career, but he didn’t make enough of them to be a threat from beyond the arc. He has an exciting package of athleticism but he needs to work really hard on a lot of portions of his game to avoid becoming solely an energy guy. He has a chance to go in the late first round of the draft.
