Spencer Dinwiddie Leaving Colorado For NBA

Spencer Dinwiddie, Colorado’s do everything point guard, is leaving for the NBA. Dinwiddie was only able to play in 17 games for the Buffaloes last season due to injury, but his impact on the team was substantial. Dinwiddie had nearly a 130 offensive rating, shot 51.5% from two, 41% from three, 86% from the line, had an assist rate 11% higher than his turnover rate, and drew a ton of fouls.

From an NBA perspective, Dinwiddie is probably a second rounder, though I do think thanks to his size (and if he can prove his improvements with his jumper are real) then he could sneak into the first round.

As for Colorado, I don’t seem to share the same optimism for their 2014-15 season as a lot of smart people do. Dinwiddie did a ton for that team on offense, and he was a pretty underrated defender as well. John Scott and Askia Booker are a nice 1-2 punch, and with Tad Boyle at the helm the Buffs always will have a chance, but I don’t see them being much better than they were this year, if at all.
