Video Tribute To Chase Utley

Last August, Philadelphia said goodbye to one of its’ prodigal sons. Chase Utley, Philadelphia’s long time second baseman, was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers for prospects Jon Richy and Darnell Sweeney. It was a bitter end to a mismanaged regime that was Ruben Amaro Jr.’s tenure as Phillies GM. Losing Chase, Jimmy and Cole hurt, however, time has begun to heal the wounds.

Today, we celebrate the career of one of the greatest ballplayers in Philadelphia history. The thunderous applause and standing ovation will do little to thank “The Man” that has done so much for this city.

Thanks to Chase Utley; there have been more first born male babies have been named Chase than any other time in Philadelphia history, more men ages 16-36 have grown soul patches, poorly, to try to match their idol and Kashmir has become the wedding song to thousands.

Alright, well maybe those last three things were a lie but there is no way to truly define the impact Chase Utley had on the City of Brotherly Love.

So, to thank Chase(yes, I feel like I can call him Chase) Josh LaMarra put together this video tribute.

Thank you, Chase.
