The San Diego Padres spent a ton of money in the offseason to revamp their roster.
Unfortunately, the move hasn’t worked out like they thought it would. The team is six games under .500 and 11 games out of first place in the NL West.
And the roster changes have brought some dissension, too, which is normal when you bring in and overpay guys with character issues.
Justin Upton was the cause of a heated exchange in the dugout during Sunday’s game, when he immaturely slammed his helmet down in the eighth inning of the team’s matchup against the Rockies.
Unfortunately, the helmet ended up hitting Yonder Alonso in the head, and that didn’t go too well.
Upton needs to be more careful next time.
