The Memphis Grizzlies are bringing everything but the kitchen sink to Game 3 against the San Antonio Spurs on Friday. No NBA team has ever won a series when trailing three games to none, so the Grizzlies are looking to avoid being put in that scenario.
Matt Barnes was brutally honest about his team’s performance in Game 1 and Game 2 against the Spurs, saying the Grizzlies were “coming to a gunfight with some spoons” after getting blown out in both games, but he said the team will be better equipped come Friday at FedEx Forum for a pivotal Game 3.
Barnes says weapons for Game 3 include, “forks, spoons, knives, the sharpening knife, whatever we got, can openers, bottle wine openers.”

The Grizzlies have lost the first two games in the series by a combined 58 points, and they are the first playoff team held under 75 points in consecutive games since 2010. They’ve had to deal with a ton of injuries this season, so it’s going to take a miracle to come back and beat the Spurs.
But consider this: Only two teams have won a series when trailing 0-2 since 2009, and the 2013 Grizzlies were the last to do it.
