Blas Perez scores MLS goal of the year

Vancouver Whitecaps forward Blas Perez had yet to score a goal this season heading into Wednesday night’s game against the Chicago Fire, but he put an end to that slump in a huge way.

Perez gave the Caps the lead in the 36th minute of the game, but the Fire later tied it in the second half.

No problem, Perez would come up big yet again, when the team needed it most.

In the game’s waning minutes, when it appeared the match would end in a draw, Perez scored the goal of the year of the MLS season so far.

With the clock ticking, in the 88th minute, Perez got under a ball that was served into the box and blasted it into the net with a sick bicycle kick.

You won’t see many goals like that in the MLS again. What a strike.
