Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo might have expected to get plunked by the opposing pitcher during Friday’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, but not the catcher.
As Welington Castillo attempted to throw back to the pitcher during the bottom of the first inning, he accidentally hit Rizzo, his ex-teammate, right in the head. Fortunately, Rizzo was wearing his batting helmet, but he pretended to get angry with Castillo before cracking a huge smile.
Castillo was with the Cubs when Rizzo arrived in 2012, and was traded away to Seattle last season before getting traded again to Arizona.
