Cavaliers reportedly interested in Mario Chalmers

Mario Chalmers might be reuniting with LeBron James in Cleveland.

According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Cavaliers are interested in signing the free-agent point guard who played alongside James in Miami. Chalmers started every postseason game for the Heat when the team won back-to-back titles in 2012 and 2013.

Chalmers, 30, averaged 10.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 55 games with Memphis last season before suffering a torn Achilles tendon. He’s about a month away from being ready after Achilles surgery in March, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.

With Mo Williams retiring in the offseason, the Cavaliers need depth at point guard behind Kyrie Irving, and Chalmers gives them that.
