Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry will not play in the 2016 Olympics, choosing instead to let his right knee heal.
His Warriors teammate, Draymond Green, who is among the 30 finalists for Team USA, “would love to play” in the Rio Olympics, according to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated.

Green, 26, has been healthy this season, sitting out one game to rest. He’s also playing the most minutes of his career during the postseason at just under 38 minutes per game. To say that he isn’t ready to play more basketball over the summer is false.
Green, who first played for USA Basketball as a college player, would be making his first appearance as a pro for Team USA if he were selected. But given his ability shoot, pass and play defense, it’s hard to imagine Team USA passing him up.
More importantly, Green actually wants to play, which is hard to find these days. Many players have become turned off at the idea of playing because of the Zika virus epidemic in Brazil. However, per Marcus Thompson of the San Jose Mercury News, “If he is invited to play, he will play.”
