Report: Bills to sign Reggie Bush to one-year deal

The Buffalo Bills are signing running back Reggie Bush to a one-year, incentive-laden deal, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Bush, 31, played in just five games for the San Francisco 49ers last season. He tore his ACL in Week 8 against the Rams after slipping on the concrete portion of the sideline at St. Louis’ Edward Jones Dome.

With Karlos Williams suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season for violating the league’s substance abuse, Bush will have an opportunity to get some playing time behind starter LeSean McCoy.

The No. 2 overall pick in the 2006 draft by the New Orleans Saints, Bush has been a good NFL player but not great. He has reached 1,000 yards rushing just twice in his 11-year career, and his attempts have gone way down the past couple seasons. Bush carried the ball eight times for the 49ers in 2015, and 76 times for the Lions in 2014.

We’ll see if Bush can revitalize his career with the Bills, who ran the ball a lot last year (509 attempts). Only Carolina had more attempts in 2015 (526 attempts).
