Richard Jefferson’s retirement didn’t last long at all. The 36-year-old has decided not to retire and hopes to play two to three more seasons, reports Chris Mannix of The Vertical.
Jefferson announced his retirement in the locker room after the Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA championship on June 20.

In an interview on The Dan Patrick Show last week, Jefferson said his teammates were trying to talk him out of retiring. And at the Cavaliers parade, the crowd chanted “one more year” to Jefferson, and he said “Ok”, so it seems like he was having second thoughts not long after he retired.
Jefferson played in 74 games for the Cavaliers last season, averaging 5.5 points per game. He played big minutes during the postseason and stepped in for the injured Kevin Love in Game 3 of the Finals. Per Mannix, Cleveland is expected to try to re-sign Jefferson, but it’s possible he land a lucrative, short-term deal elsewhere.
