Terrell Owens thinks he can be 1,000-yard receiver, says Rams could use him

At age 42, Terrell Owens thinks he can still play in the NFL and be extremely productive.

Appearing on Thursday’s edition of The Dan Patrick Show, which was being guest-hosted by The Drive on 910 FOX Sports in Phoenix, Owens said he could still dominate in the NFL, granted he plays on the right team.

“It would depend on the situation, depending on the team, what kind of packages they have,” Owens said. “I could insert myself somewhere strategically with a good offensive coordinator throughout the season and I could definitely, I would say anywhere to 800 to 1,000. And again, that’s on the shy side.”

He specifically mentions the Los Angeles Rams as a team that could use him because they don’t have a No. 1 receiver, and he’s already living in Los Angeles.

“I just happened to catch a radio broadcast the other day and they were talking about [how the Rams] don’t have a No. 1 receiver. So I don’t even know who their receivers are,” he said.

Owens hasn’t played in the NFL since 2010. No, the Rams don’t have a true No. 1 at receiver, but it’s highly unlikely that they would bring him in to be just that. This a potential Hall-of-Famer we’re talking about, but Owens is way past his prime and would really only provide the team’s receivers with mentoring.
