Texans make fun of Shane Lechler’s 40th birthday, gift him Stephen Curry shoes

Houston Texans punter Shane Lechler turned 40 on Sunday. He is the oldest player on the team and one of the oldest active players in the NFL.

On Sunday night, coach Bill O’Brien and some of Lechler’s teammates helped the punter celebrate his 40th birthday the only way how. By mocking him with old people gifts.

From Peter King of Monday Morning Quarterback:

Sunday was punter Shane Lechler’s 40th birthday. On Sunday night, O’Brien and players Vince Wilfork, Brian Cushing and Johnathan Joseph called Lechler to the front of the team auditorium, gave him a cake shaped like the number 40, and also got him a walker, some Rogaine, and those Steph Curry sneakers people think look old-fashioned.

The Steph Curry shoes are a nice touch. We hear Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll loves those, and he’s 64!

Lechler also got his locker decorated by his fellow specialists.

Gotta love 40th birthdays in the NFL.
