Video: UConn Huskies Men’s Soccer Goalie Scott Levene Postgame – 9/13/15

This past June, it was announced that former UConn Huskies men’s soccer head coach Joe Morrone had about three months to live due to pancreatic cancer. Apparently, he doesn’t have much time left.

Although you wouldn’t know it as the old head coach sat out in a driving rain to watch the UConn Huskies beat the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos 2-1. After the game, the UConn Huskies went over to acknowledge Morrone.

Watch and/or listen below as UConn Huskies men’s soccer goalie Scott Levene talks about what that moment meant to him.

Video: UConn Huskies Men’s Soccer on 797 Minute Opponent Scoreless Streak

The UConn Huskies men’s soccer team may be 0-0-3 this season and not scored a goal. But they’ve also not allowed one in 330 minutes.

Add that 330 minutes to the 467 minute opponent scoreless streak to end the 2014 season and the UConn Huskies men’s soccer team has not given up a goal in 797 minutes. If all 797 minutes were done in 90 minute matches that’s almost nine full games without the other team scoring.

One other factor to consider is that the UConn Huskies men’s soccer team is starting five freshman this season in front of a sophomore goalie. This isn’t exactly the most experienced team.

But to continue to do that just shows how good this team can be with more experience.

Watch below as UConn Huskies men’s soccer coach Ray Reid talks about the scoreless streak for the other team.
