Will a car rental derail PJ Hairston’s season?

UNC fans celebrated when 6-5 star guard PJ Hairston opted to return to school for his junior season. But his offseason got off to an unfavorable start when he was arrested on drug charges and for driving without a license. At first it just appeared to be a case of a college kid getting busted for having a little bit of weed, and it wouldn't be that big of deal.

Later, it escalated, when it was discovered that a gun was found outside the SUV he was driving.

Now, things are getting even more serious.

The Big Lead reports that the NCAA is investigating a link between Hairston and Rodney Blackstock, an agent who recently found fame when it was revealed that he paid money for access to Ben McLemore.

A possible issue is the rental which Hairston was driving at the time of his arrest. The police are not releasing the name of the person who rented the 2013 GMC Yukon, but if it turns out to be Blackstock – as the Big Lead speculates – then Hairston's junior season is in serious jeopardy.
