A triple short of the cycle, Jose Altuve falls rounding second base (VIDEO)

No Houston Astro has completed the cycle since 2013. Jose Altuve was on his way to accomplishing the feat Saturday night in Kansas City.

Through five innings, he had already racked up a single, a double, and a three-run homer. In the sixth, he laced a ball into the right-center field gap. The speedy All-Star raced past first — headed for a sure-fire triple.

Then, as he approached second base, his legs betrayed him.

At least he and his teammates could laugh about it. All in all, it was a great day for the Astros, who crushed the Royals for the second straight night for their seventh consecutive victory.
