Arian Foster leaves game with groin injury

Arian Foster may have a new team, but it was the same old story as the running back left Sunday’s Dolphins-Patriots game with a groin injury.

The oft-injured Foster came in nursing a hamstring and was questionable to play, but he still got the start. The Dolphins signed the four-time Pro Bowl running back to a one-year contract last July, knowing that he has a long history injuries, including last year’s season-ending Achilles injury.

Foster, 30, was chosen to be the lead back in Miami after Lamar Miller departed for Houston in free agency.

Second-year man Jay Ajayi and rookie Kenyan Drake will take over for Foster. Ajayi was left in Miami for last week’s season opener at the Seattle Seahawks because he was upset over being demoted after losing the starting running back job to Foster. He will get an opportunity to win back the job if Foster’s injury is the long-term variety, which it usually is.
