Best of the NFL’s new ‘Color Rush’ uniforms

The NFL released the designs of every team’s new “Color Rush” uniform, which will be worn by teams playing in Thursday night games this season.

There are plenty of bright and flashy colors, but most of the 2016 editions of the uniform combinations look very good. There are some strong designs, with several teams using the “Color Rush” opportunity to put a modern touch on a retro look.

Here are the best of the best from the “Color Rush” uniforms:

Wearing all white doesn’t exactly scream “Color Rush,” but that hardly matters because the gold numbering and black and gold striping on the Saints’ retro look absolutely shines against a white background. Throw on the Saints’ stylish gold helmet, and this look is just about perfect.

Black on black on black, with a little more black and a touch of gold. The Steelers have a classic set up, but it’s hard to argue against their new “Color Rush” look, especially with the addition of simple gold numbers and sleeve stripes on a head-to-toe black background. These are so good and unembellished, the Steelers should keep them around and wear them for a few games every year.

The perfect upgrade on an adored retro look. The gold numbers pop off the jersey, especially when teamed with the Chargers’ white and gold helmets. The color here looks more navy, but it’s actually a bright royal blue. These are going to look great on the field.

The white tiger look absolutely works. I might be biased to the new white uniforms, but it’s hard not to like how the black stripes and numbers help the Bengals’ orange helmet pop off the screen. Simple is usually better, and the all white really looks sharp when combined with a colored helmet.

The all orange uniforms are a little much, but that flaw is easily overlooked when your eyes avert to Denver’s throwback helmet. The old “D” logo is back, and it looks great on a dark navy helmet.
