Brandin Cooks scores longest TD in Saints history (VIDEO)

Thanks to Drew Brees and Brandin Cooks, it looks like there’s one side of the ball the Saints don’t have to worry about.

Brees found Cooks for a 98-yard touchdown pass Sunday against the Raiders, the longest touchdown from scrimmage in Saints history. It gave the Saints a 24-10 lead over the Raiders with just over eight minutes left in the third quarter at New Orleans.

Cooks, who turns 23 in two weeks, led the Saints in receptions (84) and touchdowns (nine) last season. Through three quarters on Sunday, he had six catches for 143 yards and two touchdowns and the Saints led 24-13.

New Saints tight end Coby Fleener had no catches through three quarters. With the emergence of Cooks, perhaps the Saints no longer have to focus their offense on the tight end position.
