Browns reportedly seeking high draft pick for Josh McCown

The Cleveland Browns are driving up the price on veteran quarterback Josh McCown.

Mary Cay Kabot of Cleveland.com reports the Browns are demanding “a high draft pick” for McCown, who is reportedly on the Minnesota Vikings’ radar to replace Teddy Bridgewater after the third-year quarterback suffered a dislocated left knee and torn anterior cruciate ligament at practice on Tuesday.

McCown, 37, was on the Dallas Cowboys’ radar earlier this month before Tony Romo hurt his back, but the Browns were demanding no less than a fourth-round pick for the 14-year veteran, according to Yahoo Sports. The Cowboys, however, appear comfortable with rookie Dak Prescott to lead them.

Meanwhile, the Vikings are looking at veteran Shaun Hill and rookie Joel Stave as possible replacements for Bridgewater. Former Chargers quarterback Brad Sorensen is also in the mix. He re-signed with Minnesota shortly after being waived.

Hill is the most likely candidate to take over for Bridgewater, having played 15 seasons in the NFL. The Vikings will probably explore their options around the league, though. But look for them to seriously consider McCown, who had a good season with NFC North rival Chicago two years ago.
