Over the past four years, Chris Sale has regularly shown the capability of being the American League’s best pitcher — finishing in the top six of the Cy Young voting in each season. Based on the way he’s started 2016, he might earn that title after all.
In defeating the New York Yankees in the Bronx with a complete game effort on Friday night, the White Sox southpaw moved to 8-0 and lowered his ERA to 1.67 — becoming just the third pitcher since 1969 to win their first eight starts with a sub-2.00 ERA
The other two on that list are Fernando Valenzuela and Hall-of-Famer Pedro Martinez.
In addition to Chris Sale and Atlanta, the Twins only have 8 wins. So, Chris Sale has tied 2 MLB teams, by himself, with wins. Amazing.

Sale’s eight victories are the most in all of baseball. He also leads the AL in innings pitched (59.1) and WHIP (0.76), is third in strikeouts (53) and third in ERA.
