DeAndre Hopkins fined for wearing Yeezy cleats

NFL players wearing Yeezy cleats during games can expect to be fined after what happened to DeAndre Hopkins.

The Houston Texans receiver told reporters Thursday that he was fined about $6,000 for wearing the Kanye West-designed football spikes, according to the Houston Chronicle‘s Aaron Wilson. Hopkins said he doesn’t plan on wearing them again, unless West offers to pay his fine.

Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller, Buffalo Bills receiver Sammy Watkins and Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson also wore Yeezy cleats for last week’s games.

For what it’s worth, Hopkins caught his first touchdown of the season in those cleats, a sick 23-yard grab in the second quarter of Sunday’s 23-14 win over the Chicago Bears. He will have to do without the cleats when the Texans take on the Chiefs this Sunday.
