Dez Bryant eager to face Josh Norman

Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant told the Dallas Morning News that he “can’t wait” to go up against Redskins cornerback Josh Norman.

If the Redskins’ 38-16 loss to the Steelers on Monday night is any indication, Bryant might have to wait. Norman rarely covered Antonio Brown. Instead, Bashaud Breeland was the one who was burned the most as Brown caught eight passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns.

The Giants held Bryant to one catch for eight yards in Sunday’s 20-19 win at Dallas. They weren’t going to let Bryant beat them, double covering him much of the afternoon.

When Bryant and Norman met last year, Bryant was playing in his second game after coming back from a foot injury and caught just two passes for 26 yards.

The relationship between Norman and Bryant is more cordial than the one between Norman and a certain other receiver in the NFC East. Norman and Bryant have exchanged nothing but plaudits throughout the offseason.

If Norman is lined up against Bryant more frequently than he was against Brown, it might be difficult for Bryant to get untracked after a slow start to his season.
