Dez Bryant injury update provides Cowboys with good news

After initially fearing the worst and going as far as skipping an MRI and getting fined, it sounds like Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant won’t miss a major chunk of time with a knee injury.

Bryant injured himself in Week 3 and has been an obvious scratch for Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

The journey to this conclusion was quite interesting, though, with NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport providing a great update for Bryant:

In other words, Bryant will likely be out less than the expected three weeks, meaning he might return to action before the Week 7 bye for a game against the Green Bay Packers. Missing Week 5 against the Cincinnati Begnals hurts, but Dallas is off to a better-than-expected start at 2-1 under the supervision of rookie quarterback Dak Prescott.

Should Bryant return soon after a good prognosis, the Cowboys will keep riding along and staying somewhat competitive in the NFC East until quarterback Tony Romo can return.

Bryant might have feared the worse, but he can now turn the scare into a positive by throwing everything he has into the rehab and getting back on the field.
