Without question, Jim Tomsula is the most unlikely of NFL head coaches. The San Francisco 49ers coach does not have the family pedigree of John Harbaugh, nor does he command instant respect like Tom Coughlin. No one would ever confuse him for the cerebral Bill Belichick, although he may bring back memories of the guy who sold you your used 1997 Toyota Camry. The man is a descendent of Hungarian immigrants who made their living in the coal mines of Indiana. At one point, the man was forced to leave his family and live in a car while holding down a volunteer coaching job with his alma mater Catawba College.
Yes, Jim Tomsula is the NFL head coach equivalent of the “everyman”. This is the guy whose only interaction with a silver spoon was when he was washing them in his grandfather’s tiny restaurant. So if there was any head coach who might accidentally let a small fart slip out (because who hasn’t?) in the middle of a press conference, it would be Tomsula. Here is the video…

Whether the fart sound actually came from Tomsula is impossible to tell. Odds are that the microphone picked up some ambient sound in the room coming from somewhere other than Tomsula’s backside. Still, the timing, the facial expression, and the fact that this happened to Jim Tomsula makes the delivery of this Vine pitch perfect.
