Hunter Pence is as tough as they come, and he showed that in Saturday night’s game against the Nationals when he fouled a pitch off his face.
It happened in the second inning of the game, when Stephen Strasburg took a little bit off a pitch and hurled an 88 mph slider toward the dish. Pence managed to reach out and get a piece of it, but it pinged off the dirt and hit him right in the face.
