The Miami Hurricanes are paying tribute to Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez by wearing stickers with his initials and jersey number on the backs of their helmets for Saturday’s game against Georgia Tech.
This past Sunday, we lost a big piece of our community.
Tomorrow, we honor his memory. #JDF16pic.twitter.com/LVGLosJPbC

Fernandez, a two-time All-Star and NL Rookie of the Year in 2013, died in a boating accident last Sunday at the age of 24. His funeral was Thursday.
Miami says it was a team decision to honor Fernandez at the game tomorrow, according to Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press.
