Jets bench Geno Smith after throwing three first quarter interceptions

Geno Smith threw three interceptions during the first 10:20 of the New York Jets’ game vs. the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. As a result, the Jets had no choice but to hand the reins over to veteran quarterback Michael Vick for the second time this season.

The Gang Green faithful have already grown restless at MetLife Stadium and Rex Ryan made the only move he could at this point. Already down 14-0, Vick will be tasked with guiding his team back into the contest despite the difficult start.

Vick saw playing time three weeks ago against the San Diego Chargers, when Philip Rivers and company held a beatdown of the struggling New York club. The 34-year-old gunslinger did not play any better than Smith however, completing just 8-of-19 passes for 47 yards.
