Jimmy Garoppolo catches his own pass for three yards (VIDEO)

Jimmy Garoppolo didn’t hit his intended receiver on the first play of the second half Sunday. Instead, the Patriots quarterback completed the pass to himself and sparked a touchdown drive with a three-yard gain.

Garoppolo’s pass was batted down, but he was there to pluck it out of the air and run with it.

Top that, Tom Brady.

The play, in which Garoppolo was officially credited with a three-yard reception, opened a nine-play, 75-yard touchdown drive that culminated in an 8-yard touchdown run by LeGarrette Blount that gave the Patriots a 17-7 lead over the Cardinals with 10 minutes left in the third quarter at Arizona.

Through the game’s first 35 minutes of his first NFL start, Garoppolo completed 14 of 20 passes for 177 yards and a touchdown.

He’s showing that he has a good arm and some decent hands, too.
