Josh Reddick injured while holding the door open for room service

Josh Reddick did not play against the Cincinnati Reds Monday because of something that happened in his hotel room Sunday night.

The Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder injured a finger on his right hand when holding open a hotel room door, the Los Angeles Times reports. Reddick was holding the door open for room service when his finger got caught.

“I’m at rock bottom right now,” Reddick said. “But I will climb out.”

Reddick is batting .149 and has yet to drive in a run since coming over in a trade from the Oakland Athletics on Aug. 1. With Madison Bumgarner pitching against the Dodgers on Tuesday, it’s possible Reddick misses the game against the San Francisco Giants as well.

The injury bug has had it out for the Dodgers all season long. Reddick’s injury is minor compared to what the starting pitching rotation has had to deal with this season.
