Kris Bryant makes history with three-homer, two-double night

It took less than two seasons for phenom Kris Bryant to have a game for the ages.

On Monday night in Cincinnati, Chicago Cubs third baseman went five-for-five with six runs batted in and four runs scored. He registered a staggering 16 total bases, setting a franchise record.

Bryant also hit three home runs and two doubles. If you think that’s incredible, you’re right — because it’s never happened before in MLB history.

According to Elias Sports Bureau, Bryant (at age 24) is the youngest Cub to ever hit 3 HRs in the same game — ten days younger than when Ernie Banks did it in 1955. His total for the season is now 21.
