Report: Le’Veon Bell suspension reduced to three games

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell received some good news Friday.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the four-game suspension Bell was facing at the start of the 2016 season for missing a drug test has been reduced to three games. Pro Football Talk reports the three-game suspension was the result of a negotiated settlement between the NFL and NFLPA.

This is good news for Bell now and in the future should he face another suspension.

Bell, for the second year in a row, will be starting the season on suspension. It’s also the second the second year in a row he’s had his suspension reduced by one game. Last year, Bell had been suspended three games for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse, but he later had it reduced to two games.

Bell will miss games against Washington, Cincinnati and Philadelphia before returning in Week 4 against Kansas City. Chiefs fans must be livid that they now have to face one of the league’s top running backs, and that he will be well-rested too.
