It was last year when Royals’ starting pitcher Yordano Ventura gained a not-too-favorable reputation for being hot-tempered on the mound.
Whether he wanted to or not, that stigma resurfaced the instant he hit Manny Machado in the back on Tuesday.
The Orioles’ star third baseman took immediate umbrage with the young right-hander, charging the mound and throwing punches.

It wasn’t Bautista vs. Ordor, but (by baseball standards) was a legitimate brawl. There are plenty of other hitters around the league (particularly in the American League) who are happy with what Machado did.
