NFL forced Antonio Brown to change colorful cleats at halftime

Apparently NFL referees telling Pittsburgh Steelers wideout Antonio Brown he wasn’t allowed to play in the second half was “something to a boss.”

Brown hit Sunday’s loss against the Philadelphia Eagles with some wicked cleats seen above, an obvious violation of the league’s uniform code. Officials told him at halftime to take them off or don’t come out to play at all.

Brown caved:

Brown told the media his fine for cleats and twerking in the end zone were “nothing to a boss.” From the sounds of it, the league shrugged its shoulders and found something impactful enough to force Brown into line.

Screams of No Fun League or not, the NFL has a uniform policy in place. It’s one thing to break it and take the fine. It’s clearly another to brag about it in the open, admitting the fines the league has in place are mere chump change given a superstar’s contract.

The league has to keep fines where they are because not every player makes what Brown does. As such, the league just found a great alternative to make sure players follow the rules and made an example of Brown.

Oh, and a fine check will be in the mail, too.
