Paul George of the Indiana Pacers is one of the best stories in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games because it marks his triumphant return to the Olympics after a gruesome leg injury his last time out.
But sometimes, clearly, George forgets he’s playing in Rio.
Case in point:
Whoops.
It’s ridiculous, really. George has to be one of the fastest cup raisers in the NBA, which is pretty selfish.
Just kidding. Anyone with a sense of George as a person knows he’s selfless and about his team. This is simply a funny occurrence of George doing something on reflex, possibly forgetting where he was for a moment. That, or someone seriously left him hanging.
George has given up quite a bit more than most to play for his country. A hiccup like this, though, makes for a funny moment. George and Team USA suit up again Wednesday at 6 p.m. against Australia.
