PHOTO: Michael Pineda Appears to Have Applied Pine Tar Substance On Hand

One thing Yankees-Red Sox series always bring is entertainment. And that’s exactly what tonight’s game featured.

With Michael Pineda on the mound, TV cameras captured the Yankees starting pitcher with a substance on his pitching hand, which appeared to be pine tar.

The verdict:

Certainly looks like pine tar to me. Whether it was to help grip the ball or not, looks like he globbed a healthy helping of it on there.

It’s not cheating if you don’t get caught. But Pineda did.
