Red Sox Tape Rookie Pitcher to a Pole (Video)

Life as a Major League Baseball rookie isn’t easy. Red Sox pitcher Henry Owens found this out the hard way during Boston’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday.  Feeling a bit mischievous on a lazy Labor Day weekend afternoon, Owens’ teammates taped the 23-year-old pitcher to a pole inside of the Boston dugout.

Strange as it may seem, being bound and gagged is one of the highest forms of flattery at Fenway. The last Red Sox pitcher to receive such treatment was none other than Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez.

In addition to scoring a big win in the dugout prank department, the Red Sox also managed to pick up the victory over the Phillies 6-2.
