Redskins defensive workbooks found in dumpster

Apparently, the Redskins’ cutdown day procedures need a little work.

Or maybe the organization needs to go paperless with certain things.

A caller named “Josh” told 106.7 The Fan’s Sports Junkies show that he was using a dumpster to clean out his truck and found a defensive workbook belonging to former Redskins linebacker Ejiro Ederaine.

Ederaine, undrafted out of Fresno State, was cut Saturday. Either he wasn’t told to hand over those materials, or he was told but somehow got out of the facility with the books.

It’s unclear what the difference is between a workbook and a playbook, but here’s what Josh found.

“It has what you do in a hot route, what his assignment would have been, what the guy next to him’s assignment would have been,” Josh said. “I mean it’s got everything.”

Ederaine had 21 sacks and 45 tackles for loss in four seasons at Fresno State. Perhaps he was bitter over being cut and purposely threw the books in a dumpster. Perhaps he didn’t realize that throwing something in a dumpster doesn’t destroy the item. Either way, this whole situation is a strike against him if he hopes to be picked up by another team.

And if Josh ever happens to be in a scavenger hunt and “Redskins defensive workbook” is on the list, he wins.
