Report: Bears’ Lamarr Houston will miss rest of season with torn ACL

Chicago Bears pass-rusher Lamarr Houston has suffered a serious knee injury for the second time in three seasons.

Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, an MRI on Tuesday confirmed a torn ACL for Houston, who also tore his ACL in 2014, when celebrating a sack. Houston was among several Bears defensive players to get injured during Monday night’s 29-14 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Inside linebacker Danny Trevathan, who signed as a free agent from the Super-Bowl winning Broncos, will have thumb surgery and is out indefinitely, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN.com reports. Nose tackle Eddie Goldman has a high ankle sprain and defensive backs Adrian Amos and Bryce Callahan suffered concussions.

Quarterback Jay Cutler was also injured and could miss some time with ligament damage in his right thumb, according to a report by the Chicago Sun Times.

Losing Houston for the year comes at a bad time, as the Bears are still waiting for Pernell McPhee to come off the physically unable to perform list after knee surgery. Houston led the team in sacks a year ago with eight.
