Ricardo Mayorga attempted to poke the bear known as Shane Mosley on Saturday night, which probably wasn’t a very good idea, in retrospect.
The 43-year-old Mosley came out retirement to fight Mayorga and looked focused and determined throughout the bout.
Mosley knocked Mayorga out in the sixth round of the fight at The Forum, and it’s certainly possible that one particular sequence in the third round had an impact on the result.
Mayorga taunted Mosley by putting his gloves down and then proceeding to take a flurry of punches. He then trolled his opponent as if to laugh that Mosley wasn’t able to knock him out.
Mosley may not have recorded a KO in the third round, but it only took three more stanzas until this happened.
You have to wonder if Mayorga regrets taunting Mosley, after watching how the fight ended.
