Ronda Rousey blasts Walmart for not selling her book in stores

Ronda Rousey has made a habit of destroying everyone that crosses her pathjust ask Cat Zingano, Alexis Davis and even Stephanie McMahon.

And now it’s Walmart’s turn to get arm-barred.

Walmart announced it would not sell her new book, “My Fight/Your Fight,” in stores. The book is set to be released in May, but Walmart has already made it quite clear you won’t see it on shelves.

So, Rousey took to Instagram and put them on blast. Check out her post.

“‘Success is the best revenge’ one of many lessons I learned from fighting that helped me fight through life’s battles off the mat and outside the octagon. @Walmart is welcome to watch the success of this publication from the sidelines if they choose. Pre-order #MyFightYourFight here”

Walmart did offer a statement (to Business Insider) as to why they won’t sell her book, but the reasoning behind it doesn’t really address the issue. It’s really just some old-fashioned PR spin.

“There are a variety of factors that we look at when determining what items to offer our customers. At this point, we’ve chosen to offer this particular title to our customers online. We will continue to watch how customers respond,” Walmart spokesperson Danit Marquardt told BI.

“Our average Walmart supercenters sell 150,000 items whereas Walmart.com offers 7 million items. Across all of our merchandise categories, we sell an abbreviated assortment in stores when compared to our ecommerce site.”

Walmart did say it’ll sell the book online, as you can see above. But we have to question the decision here, as the big-box store has no problem selling gunswhich kill peoplein stores. This decision seems to be based on her reputation, and that’s just not fair.

Now Rousey can add Walmart to the list of people that have crossed her. Hopefully, she won’t end up like Jimmy Fallonarm-barred and shouting in discomfort!
