New ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ trailer released

Monday night actually brought something good for a change, as football fans were treated to the official debut of the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens during halftime of Monday Night Football.

The much-anticipated movie marks the first movie of the saga since 2005, when Episode III: Revenge of the Sith was released.

The Monday night showing served as a promotion so fans could purchase advance tickets to guarantee they’ll be able to see the movie when it opens in December.

Speaking of the movie, here’s the trailer that was released. It looks great.

Business Insider’s Cork Gaines did a great job of pointing out that it may have been Luke Skywalker’s mechanical hand reaching out to R2D2 in one particular shot.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to hit theaters on Dec. 18. And even though that’s roughly two months away, the good news is that you can already purchase tickets for the big opening if that’s your thing.
