Tom Brady to serve as Michigan’s honorary team captain vs. Colorado

Tom Brady will be leading a football team out of the tunnel in September, just not the New England Patriots.

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh told The Rich Eisen Show on Wednesday Brady will serve as his team’s honorary captain when the Wolverines take on Colorado Sept. 17 in Ann Arbor, Mich.

The four-time Super Bowl champion went 20-5 during his two years as the starter at Michigan in the 1998-99 seasons. He led the Wolverines to victories in the Rose Bowl and Citrus Bowl.

Brady, of course, is suspended for the first four games of the NFL season for Deflategate, so he has some free time on his hands. Backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is expected to start the first four games for the Patriots while Brady serves his suspension.

Michigan should be able to welcome Brady back with a win, as the Buffaloes finished 4-9 last season.
