Watch: Cam Newton lowers shoulder and levels Lance Briggs

It isn’t very often you get to see a quarterback lay out a defender with a block. But then not every quarterback is as big as the 6-foot-5, 240-plus-pound Cam Newton.

Newton lowered the shoulder on an end-around by Philly Brown and leveled the unsuspecting Lance Briggs, who probably didn’t take well to getting de-cleated by a quarterback.

Newton laughed following the play. The Bears got him back shortly thereafter though, getting intercepted by Briggs a few players later on a tipped pass.
