The calendar hasn’t even hit June (39 games old, to be exact) and the Chicago White Sox have accomplished a rare feat this season…twice.
Unlike the zany one they pulled off on April 22 against the Texas Rangers, the triple play that was turned on Wednesday versus Houston was in the far more conventional, around-the-horn style.
The Chicago White Sox are kinda good at getting 3 outs really fast this season. #TriplePlayhttps://t.co/vkjNGCKxHg

The @whitesox are the first @MLB team to turn two triple plays in one year since the ’07 Phillies.

It’s quite appropriate that the Astros were the victims of this 5-4-3 grounder, because this year’s White Sox became the first team since the ’78 Houston club to turn two triple plays within the initial two months of the season.
When the triple play occurred, it was 5-3 in favor of Chicago. That lead would stand, as the Sox continue to hold a first place lead in the AL Central.
