2015-2016 UConn Men’s Basketball Schedule Announced

STORRS, Conn. — A formidable 18-game schedule against the improved teams of the American Athletic Conference will combine with a 13-game challenging non-conference slate to give the University of Connecticut men’s basketball team an exciting 31-game regular season in 2015-16.

The dates, venues, and television coverage were announced today by the school and The American, as well as all but a few game times, which are still to be determined. To purchase 2015-16 season tickets, please CLICK HERE.

The Huskies will play five league games at Gampel Pavilion, including games against Tulsa and the regular-season finale against Central Florida. UConn has four conference games scheduled at the XL Center, including matchups against defending conference champ SMU and longtime opponent Cincinnati. The Huskies will play each of the conference teams at home except USF and will play each on the road except East Carolina.

Including the previously-announced non-conference schedule, UConn will have 10 home games on campus at Gampel Pavilion and nine home games at the XL Center in Hartford, which include an exhibition game at each venue

Regarding television coverage, UConn will play two games, against Ohio State and Georgetown, on CBS and at least 13 games on the ESPN network family — ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU. The Huskies will have eight games featured on CBS Sports Network and five on SNY. In addition, UConn’s opening game in the Battle 4 Atlantis against Michigan is set for AXS TV, with television coverage for the remaining two games of the tourney still to be determined.

The conference schedule will begin on the road in New Orleans as the Huskies meet Tulane on Jan. 2. UConn will then return home to play Temple at the XL Center (Jan. 5) and Memphis at Gampel Pavilion (Jan. 9).

The Huskies then head west for games at Tulsa (Jan. 14) and Houston (Jan. 17), before three consecutive games at the XL Center, facing Tulane (Jan. 19), a non-conference game against Georgetown (Jan. 23) and Cincinnati (Jan. 28). UConn ends the month at UCF (Jan. 31).

February includes four home and four away games, starting at Memphis on Feb. 4. UConn then plays host to East Carolina at Gampel (Feb. 7), travels to Temple (Feb. 11), comes home to play Tulsa at Gampel (Feb. 13) and SMU at the XL Center (Feb. 18), and journeys to Cincinnati (Feb. 20) and USF (Feb. 25). UConn meets Houston at Gampel on Feb. 28.

Two games in March complete the regular season, at SMU (March 3) and at home in Gampel Pavilion against UCF (March 6).

The American Athletic Conference Championship is set for March 10-13 at the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla.
