UConn Men Will Open Up 2015 Battle 4 Atlantis Against Michigan

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas — The UConn men’s basketball team will square off against the Michigan Wolverines on Wednesday, Nov. 25, in the opening round of the 2015 Battle 4 Atlantis, according to the tournament bracket released today.

The game is one of four games scheduled for the opening day of the tournament, held in the Atlantis’ 3,900-seat Imperial Arena on Paradise Island, Bahamas. The other three contests include Gonzaga vs. Washington, Texas vs. Texas A&M, and Syracuse vs. Charlotte. Game times will be set at a later date, with all games televised by either  ESPN, ESPN2, or AXS TV. The UConn-Michigan game will be on AXS TV.

The UConn-Michigan winner and loser will meet the Syracuse –Charlotte winner and loser on Thursday, Nov. 26, with the final four games of the tournament, including the championship final, scheduled for Friday, Nov. 27.

UConn and Michigan have met three times, with the Wolverines, out of the Big 10, holding a 2-1 edge. The last meeting was a 68-63 win by Michigan on Jan., 17, 2010, in Ann Arbor.

The 2015 Battle 4 Atlantis welcomes an eight-team field with a combined six NCAA Championship titles (four by UConn), 181 NCAA Tournament appearances, 22 Final Four Appearances, and more than 32 Sweet Sixteen appearances.
